Technology Team Leader
Fayetteville, North Carolina Tire Manufacturing Plan

The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company

The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company has been part of Anthony Jackson’s life for as long as he can remember. A technical team leader at Goodyear’s Consumer tire plant in Fayetteville, N.C., Anthony has worked in three of Goodyear’s manufacturing facilities during his 30-year career in the tire industry. But he was introduced to Goodyear by his mother, who worked at the company’s now-closed Union City, Tenn., tire plant for over 30 years.

Anthony took advantage of Union City’s summer vacation program in the early ‘80s, working there while in college at the University of Tennessee at Martin. Four years after graduating in 1984 from UT Martin with a degree in business administration, he began his career with Goodyear at Union City in the company’s Production Squadron Training Program. He transferred to the company’s Lawton, Okla., tire plant and became an area manager there in 1989. Four years later, he became a manufacturing team leader in Lawton’s Mixing department.

Anthony next moved to a Quality role at Lawton in 1994, working as customer engineer with two of Goodyear’s Original Equipment customers, Ford and General Motors. In 1995, he returned to Union City as an area manager and transitioned to night superintendent before resuming his Quality duties as a technical team leader. In 1998, Anthony became business center manager in Union City’s Component Prep business center before again assuming a Quality assignment as customer contact engineer. In 2011, he transferred to the Fayetteville plant as a technology team leader in the Curing and Final Finish departments, where he is currently assigned.

A life-long University of Tennessee football fan and sports car enthusiast, Anthony enjoys spending time with his family. He and his wife, Shelly, have two sons, Kyle and Hunter, and one grandson, Lexin.
