WHAT IS RMA?

Rubber modified asphalt (RMA) is a mixture of recycled ground tire rubber and asphalt.

It represents a promising end-of-life market for the 270 million recycled tires generated annually in the U.S., with each lane mile paved using RMA repurposing up to 2,000 recycled tires.

From end-of-life to new roads, RMA helps turn yesterday's tires into the foundation for tomorrow's journey.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF RMA?

RMA delivers proven economic, performance, and environmental benefits, compared to traditional asphalt, helping build better, longer lasting roads and highways for people who rely on them every day

PERFORMANCE & SAVINGS

RMA is very resistant to cracking in both high-traffic and low-temperature situations.

Fewer roadway cracks, mean less maintenance, helping localities reduce cost while keeping drivers safe on the road.

Stronger Roads. Lower Cost. Safer Journeys

RIDE QUALITY & SAFETY

RMA has been shown to create smoother pavements, improving ride quality for motorists.

In wet conditions, RMA provides better pavement skid-resistance and
reduces road spray, increasing road safety. This makes every drive
smoother, safer, and more reliable no matter the conditions.

RMA: A SMART CHOICE FOR ROADS

By using RMA, communities can invest in roads that last longer, reduce costs, and support a safer, more sustainable future. They connect people, strengthen communities, and help America keep moving forward.
