Nick Kreuter is a Passenger Car Radial Production Specialist at Sumitomo Rubber USA. He started working for Sumitomo Rubber in June 2015 immediately after graduating from the University at Buffalo with a degree in Industrial Engineering.

He began my career journey at Sumitomo Rubber in the Manufacturing Leadership Development Program at the Buffalo Plant. After completing the MLDP leadership role, Nick moved into the Industrial Engineering Position for the plant, responsible for time studies and capability studies throughout all business centers. After nine months as an IE, he encountered the opportunity to join the Truck Bus Radial team as the Production Specialist. Nick has spent the last two years working with the TBR team to help drive performance and improve the capacity of the company’s build machines.

Recently, Nick has relocated to Sumitomo’s PCR team as a Production Specialist, to help influence performance as well as continuously improve and help support the company’s expansion goals for the business and the plant.

Nick’s future plans include utilizing his skills and knowledge to make a difference at Sumitomo Rubber, and push to achieve excellence both inside and outside of the plant.

Outside of Sumitomo Rubber, Nick lives in Amherst NY. He is a student at the University at Buffalo in the MBA program and anticipates graduating in the spring of 2019.

His hobbies include traveling, snow skiing and wakeboarding. Nick also enjoys spending time at his families’ cottage on Canandaigua Lake. Nick’s travels have led him to over 12 different countries and many cities within Europe and he intends to expand that even more in the future.

His passion for alpine snow ski racing has given him the drive and confidence to do whatever it takes to succeed and win. Over the past fifteen years, he has competitively alpine ski raced, accomplishing many championship titles including winning the New York State Championship Slalom in 2010, qualifying and racing in nationals and competing in select FIS races. After graduating high school, Nick was the Captain and President of the University at Buffalo NCAA ski team and competed his entire college career on the Division-3 Mid-East race circuit.
