Michelin North America, Inc.

Jackie Branscomb is a tire performance research engineer for Michelin North America, based in Greenville, South Carolina. Jackie joined Michelin in 2012 after graduating with her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in mechanical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. For the first few years of her career at Michelin, Jackie was the performance leader for tire noise and comfort for North America. In her current role, Jackie is focused on tire handling performance, working alongside automobile manufacturers during new vehicle development projects to optimize tires for the carmaker’s specific goals.

Jackie attributes her interest in cars to her father, who encouraged her to join him in autocross activities at the early age of six. When she was 16, Jackie started participating in autocross competitions alongside her dad. Her achievements include winning a state autocross championship title. Through the sport, she gained an appreciation for the importance of high quality tires, one aspect that drew her to Michelin.

At Michelin, Jackie works on simulation and test methods for tire performance, and she also has taught many performance classes to new employees. In 2015, she was recognized for her enthusiasm and dedication to helping newly hired employees learn about designing tires for noise, comfort and handling.

In her personal time, Jackie and her fiancé enjoy riding and racing bicycles and being outdoors. Jackie demonstrates Michelin’s commitment to investing in the community by regularly volunteering. In 2017, she and her fiancé raised $3000 and cycled 252 miles in three days across the state of South Carolina to benefit the Alzheimer’s Association.
